"Few days pass without my having letters from strangers, young and old, men and women, on the subject of the Catholic religion. I answer them that it is the one and only true and safe religion."
So wrote (the Ven.) John Henry Newman to Canon Loughnan on December 21, 1882. I admit that people ask me questions about religion all the time. I'm sure any of my brother priests would say the same. When we get into details I agree with Newman: I am a Catholic because it is the only true and safe religion, not made up by men, as the various sects and denominations are, but given by God to men, "for us men and for our salvation." I must also say that I am an Anglo-Catholic because it is the Catholic Faith in its finest attire. Welcome to the front page of the new Anglo-Catholic Central. Please look around, register as a user, and tell us what you think. If there are things missing, give us time. We have created the scaffolding, now we must set to work on the cathedral itself. God bless us, every one.
