I am a former Anglican, now an Orthodox Priest. I come under the Metropolitan of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (himself a Canadian).
I am blessed to the Western Rite, moreover, I am the Superior of a Monastery which is blessed to the Western Rite - one of three such in the Church Outside of Russia (in three countries).
Our Monastery is charged by our Metropolitan with mission to western people, using the Western Rite - which was first authorised by the Synod for use in England in 1869, and again authorised by the Synod in 1907.
We have a complete Western Rite Prayer Book which includes the "English Liturgy" which is a careful "Anglican" Liturgy of the sort which English Catholics could only dream of in the past.

The point is that this has been possible for a very long time and doesn't involve crawling to Rome and trying to digest infallibility and indulgences.

Are there any Western Rite Orthodox parishes around? In North America? Or is this part of the "British Orthodox" group?
